Senator Curren Price, Jr. of the Los Angeles 26th Senate District is human first, family and community all around guy second and above all else, an advocate for the arts, humanities and small businesses. California born and Hollywood surrounded, Curren Price, Jr., middle initial, D puts his support where is chairs are. In addition to holding the Chair of both the Legislative Black Caucus and Joint Committee on The Arts, he gets involved totally and completely with cause, in this case attending the 20th Anniversary of PAFF ( Pan African Film Festival).Â
No wonder, this Senator was selected as host for “The Start of Dreams” which screened at the LA Crenshaw District’s, Rave Cinemas during PAFF, which ended on this past Monday, February 20th.  “The Start of Dreams” is the true account of the rise of New York based, Director, Producer Broadway actor and performer, Kenny Leon. The film spikes of high conversation as shown in clips featuring quips and quotes by the beautifully talented, Phylicia Allen Rashad, actress and arts activist, Jasmine Guy, actor, Samuel Jackson, “The Great Debaters”, Nate Barker and a backstage Broadway hang with the incomparable, Denzel Washington.Â
Kenny’s signature, a pair of tennis shoes ala sneakersthat keep him grounded and in touch with his grandmothers country upbringing.  “The Start of Dreams” is directed by the not only handsome but brilliant, Hornes Brothers and produced by the creative and lovely, Jennifer Gordon Thompson. The Film captures significant highlights of performances presented by upcoming and hand picked new artists on the rise.Â
