Hendrix flips the script on all as he shows a different side of his personality to his family and friends. The not so funny happens as word gets around to Hendrix’s boys,(da crew) who make a computer animated mock of Hendrix as he woos his new found interest.
“We The Party” offers a variety of talent with substance, including Mario’s own five children, Maya, Makaylo, Mandela, Morgana and Marley. Notice the distinct “M’s”. That includes, Melvin Van Peebles and of course, Mario Van Peebles. Now all maned up, Director, Mario Van Peebles and Producer, Michael Cohen, take it up a notch in a funny, true and sure to clear up the meaning of who the party, but says, Mario,” We The Party”.  His latest film, “We The Party” tweets into theaters, April 6. “We The Party”, addresses every social issue plaguing teen kind and the parents of those teens. Young adults who are marked for darts, and funny or die commentaries will for sure, feel right at home.
Facebook and twitter, had some myspace and somehow got linkedin to real teen club scenes 2012. Mario stars along with Salli Richardson-Whitfield, as a school counselor who is bent on getting Hendrix, his real live son, played by Mandela Van Peebles, to excel in more than good looks and piss, poor, high school grades.
Cheyenne Davis, played by Simone Battle, throws a curve when she makes a bet with Hendrix, that if he can get his grades up, by helping her with a school project focused on homeless people, she will tutor and possibly go to the High School prom with him.
The parents, Salli and Mario, still kinda sweet on each other; begin to see eye to eye on some matters; requiring some serious discipline for their sons, especially Hendrix, who shows a complete turn around when, Cheyenne throws a combo tutor pack of body, beauty, and brains in the mix. Cheyenne’s girl, Michelle, aka Maya Van Peebles, keeps all on track by making the two love possibles, exchange mobile passwords.
