Dircector Harvey Hubbell V-Producer Eric Gardner Make Good on Dyslexia in Dislecksia The Movie

Directed by Harvey Hubbell V and produced by Eric Gardner, “Dislecksia the Movie” is a documentary that seeks to educate, observe, and inform the public about the reading disability known as, “Dyslexia.” Armed with a handful of prominent dyslexion including Hubbell himself, no wonder this movie seems to be made to order, for an educational menu to be used as a tool in school curriculum and institutes of higher education. “Dyslexia is characterized by difficulty with learning to read fluently and with accurate comprehension despite normal intelligence.” It is not enough to just teach others about dyslexia, the fact is that over 15-35 million suffer with it. Almost 85% of juvenile offenders have it, and oh check this out guess what group, not only have it, but also have managed to gain success far beyond their so-called normal counterparts, give up, “Millionaires.” “In the 2003 BBC documentary, “Mind of a Millionaire,” we are shown through an up close and personal account of self-made millionaires just how their minds work and what they attribute their success to. From the looks of “Dislecksia the Movie” those who are looked down upon by our society, are actually made up of the stuff, or not, that makes for a quiet and subtle type of brilliance. Dislecksia expresses deep concern for our existing educational system’s lack of knowledge of learning dis-orders and the need for that system; to develop more programs focused and centered on persons with these dis-orders. Actor, writer, director, and musician Billy Bob Thornton talks candidly to director Hubbell V about his own learning disability, and what a tough time he had in traditional learning settings. Most labeled dyslexics can follow a multitude of mental thoughts and patterns that not necessarily matched to a normal pace or archetypal method of learning. Certainly those celebrities and people of notoriety, have earned their weight in gold, from the acquiring of motivation and insight peaked by their sustained disability. Stephen J. Cannell who became a prominent television writer and producer had always been perceived while he was in school as being sl-o-o-w-w. Sports workout guru and Tae Bo founder, Billy Blanks, did not let dyslexia get in the way of his active workout routine. The condition actually inspired him to challenge himself and to make use of what he was born with, muscle, wisdom and determination, dyslexia made him who he is today. Producer Eric Gardner gives us a huge tablespoon of liquid knowledge using striking visuals arising from the 60’s all American television style like “The Donna Reed Show” and for those of you who may be over 25, “Father Knows Best”. Local and community education activist are doing more to help spread the word as scientist and educators merge together in order to provide a safety net for the dyslexia movement to happen. Prominent educators like Gordon Sherman, P.H.D Executive Director of Newgrange Education Center work hard to pave the way for more extensive research. Newgrange is one of few schools that serve students with learning disabilities between the ages of 7-21, provides state-of-the-art-services, and remains to date financially prudent. Other prominent organizations such as www.proliteracy.org, which track down statistics for juvenile delinquents, help to bridge the gap between social knowledge and its lack of intelligence when discussing an elitist list of people who have some form of reading disabilities. Famous artists like Leonardo Da Vinci, genius Albert Einstein, Lee Harvey Oswald, actor, Joe Pantoliano, Charles Schwab and Johan Pestalozzi, all stood as lone cast-a-ways yet fought to lift their minds out of an impaired sense of reason. “The Haskins Literacy Agency”, started by Margie Gillis and “The Corcoran Group, are all new legs that continue to follow the body of research done by Rudolph Sam Orton, father of the Gillingham Method of learning discovered in 1887. “ The Costa Rica Rainforest Project,” is a progressive and noted summer camp challenge for students who suffer from dyslexia and as the movie says, is not an easy project to be a participant of. It is a preparatory and developed program scaled according the needs of its willing subjects who all learn how to make use of their dyslexic behavior in real life environments. “Dislecksia the Movie” is a film made to linger in the mouths of those who have seen it and the ears of all who are told about it, it is a documentary that has come to life in its own time. To participate and find out more information on the subject of dyslexia and other forms of reading dis-abilities, contact Will Baker, Founder of Dyslexia Association along with the Director, Harvey Hubbell V and producer, Eric Gardner to help set up local screening and test.
