The night smelled of an exotic mix of laughter, wine, and the fresh countryside air of the Westside that is until Trac[youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4hxuduXA1I’]k 16 ran Interference. Girlfriend, boyfriend duo, Architect, Nathalie Pozzi and game designer, Eric Zimmerman are the developers of, Interference, an interactive large-scale physical game installation. The two met on Craig’s list. Interference will run at Track 16 Gallery until end of October. The installation, a strategic social game, promises challenge, strong ingenuity, and the ability to go far beyond Facebook’s mere social interaction.[youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPUMiwqUa3g’] With milled, metal panels manufactured by Caino Design of Italy, the game’s goal is to steal from other players. The installation requires five suspended, super thin walls that are dotted with organic patterns resembling cell tissues. The organic look-a-like cell structures serve to work as vertical boards. On each play, the player can steal a piece from another game that is going on between all other participants. The evening went wild as more people showed up on the installation floor, in an attempt to master the Interference cell cite before night’s end. The games take place in a localized area of the walls, and are able to move across the walls, during team play time. The games can even collide with each other while they drift across the wall’s surfaces. No need to play down Twitter fights on this game. Interference encourages, players to sharpen their wit, and provides the opportunity to learn negotiation, argumentation, barter, and scheme with and sometimes without each other across a tech bending physical space, some in your face social networking and the spaces in between games. Interference originally commissioned by Galte Lyrique, Paris was the winner of the Interaction Award at the IndieCade 2012 festival. Culver City’s Hayden Avenue area where Track 16 is located, houses signature one of a kind buildings, which are planted on top of existing parking structures. The buildings have elevator access with an unobstructed view. The company Samitaur Constructs is owned by Frederick and Laurie Smith and designed by Eric Owen Moss. Conjunctive Points is a community of creative tenants from such diverse fields as entertainment, technology, advertising, and design. Their common theme:  the desire to grow and develop in a visually striking environment unlike anything else in the world. Carol Stakenas former Executive Director of LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions) initiated the idea to bring the Interference presentation experience to the Track 16 Gallery. In addition the Gallery presented art works by other local artist, like Alan Roth, that were displayed throughout the galleries showrooms.
