If you’ve watched the televised police drama the WIRE and looked at the big wide eyes of the character who they called Kenard the big tough but not so tough teen street kid then you’ve met another side of actor, writer, musician, and Thuliso Dingwall. The “H” is silent. A delightful character with a range of experiences in print magazines, television, and radio spots there is no wonder that this shooting star’s time is in demand. With so much to do post Covid; creatives have taken matters into their own hands partnering with legends and those emerging talents in entertainment. His musical palette has a great deal of influences including his love of hip-hop and rhythm and blues prospectively which can easily take him very quickly from the camera to the mic. With taking on principal roles in educational and industrial films Liso made his way onto the big screen in Warner Brothers, “Gods and Generals” and HBOs, “Something the Lord Made”, “Expandable”, “Sympathetic Details” and “Toe to Toe.”. I suppose one can say that practice makes perfect and making his way into the majors certainly did help to perfect a lot of his characters, the actor/ musician said. When asked if it was a difficult transition from being the real life, nice guy; and portraying the tough trouble-ridden kid on the block Kenard, with a big bright smile, he said, “No and explained that he got a lot of his tough guy grit from his father who was born and grew up in the Bronx. His superb acting in the play, “Resurrection: by Daniel Beaty as a 10-year-old searching for a cure for aching hearts of black people garnered Liso a Helen Hayes award selection. In addition to other successes under his belt in 2021 he participated in the first annual Music for Water competition held by the JB Dondolo organization. The crowd raved and as second runner up of the first-time event Liso won a recording/distribution deal with Grand Mountain International Records in Germany. He is also a member of the Music for Water Honorary Board. His take the lead attitude and promptness in giving back gives him great insight into those in need and supports raising funds for underserved communities who lack access to water and other basic needs. Having Liso around is like having a bowl full of candy to snack on. He is funny guy with a big kind heart. He is courageous, brave with an undaunting spirit towards his work. Busy is as busy does and he always finds the time whether on television, around the set or just chilling out to help and feed the homeless. He supports his local church paying homage by singing in the choir.
