Ya know sometimes things are as they are with reason. Lacey Turner a G-Souldier G for the God in him and Souldier cause he is a brotha with a whole lot of heart and soul. Let’s just say that he’s another version of people who start by not crawling but scratching their way up the totem and who seemingly do things effortlessly. He performs, writes, directs, produces and is an artivist, activist and advocate for water conservation, social change, and controversial matters. Most importantly, he loves his birthplace of St. Louis. The HMMA a Los Angeles Grammy level event brought the multi-talent here so that he could feel the flames of how it feels to be on the receiving end of the famed Hollywood red-carpet.
Held annually founder, Brent Hervey kicks off the before Grammys portion of the best and most celebrated of Hollywood music production royalties along with a variety of elite newcomers by showcasing their talent in a personal and intimate one on one setting. The hob nob of creatives budding with ideas and standing under the same roof alone is enough to draw someone like Lacey to take the nearest exit from a St. Louis plane hop all the way into LA. The nominated “Rescue You” song written by Lacey and performed by, Thuliso Dingwall formerly of the television crime drama, The Wire.

The underbelly, matters says Lacey as he talks about his St. Louis Sci-Fantasy award nominated film, Eneme. Large gatherings and support no matter what level is always a sign that there are watchers and listeners amongst the fold. Thus the 300 + who turned up and showed support for the film. When asked what an audience could take away after seeing Eneme he explained that the Eneme is within. A man with a haunting sense of conscious and a peculiar sense of self takes on a different battle with inner conflict and has stories left untold and unseen by no one but the man himself.
