Artist Statement

I paint from imagination and have difficulty signing my art, largely because it is not my work but that of others who have already passed through this plane of existence.

I am beckoned as a marionette by the person manipulating the string. I perform and act without asking why and am perplexed by images that I do not understand.

I have yet to use drawings from the works of others, as it is difficult for me to maintain focus while looking at something that someone else has put energy into.

I seek to shed light on the darkness that illuminates the subconscious mind and to make it brighter and its deep emotional imprints less fearful.

I am not so impressed by other artists as much as I am impressed by the inspiration that they have given to humanity.

As an artist, I paint; I’m not a painter who repeats what’s already been done.

I do not know where my images come from, and I have never attempted to paint. I do not believe that painting or any art form can be achieved through trying.

One either possesses the talent to do art or not.

I believe that art is a pure reflection of our inner spirit.

I believe that art emits a haunting presence that asks all artists to produce and/or manifest a thread of vision tempered by living on a dense planet known as Earth.

True art, undisturbed, lies between the shadows of sanity and insanity and remains inimitable.
